If you’re wrapping up a gift for a book lover, you have to try this DIY gift wrap hack! 📚🎁
This is my all time favorite way to wrap up a book! Not only is it super cute, but the little pocket on the front is the perfect pouch for adding bookmarks, stickers, pens, or anything else bookish and cute! Keep reading for the step-by-step tutorial and video so you can try it for your next gift!

Supplies needed:
A book! - Or any small, flat gift
Kraft or packaging paper - this colored kraft paper works too!
Scissors - sidenote: these gold scissors are my all time favorite
Tape
White Chalk Marker - this one is my favorite!
Or these paint markers!
Extra bookish items - bookmarks, stickers, pens, notepads, decals, etc.
Ribbon – Totally optional, but I’ll never say no to a velvet ribbon moment. It instantly makes things look luxe without much effort at all.

Step 1: Measure & Cut the Kraft Paper
Lay your book on the kraft paper. Cut enough to wrap it fully, but add a few extra inches on one side — this will become your little flap pocket.
Step 2: Wrap the Book
Place your book in the center of the paper. Fold one side over the book to cover it completely. Then take the side with the extra paper and fold it diagonally before wrapping it around to the back. Tape to secure, then fold in the top and bottom edges just like you would with any other gift.
Step 3: Create the Pocket
That diagonal fold you made forms the cutest little pocket right on the front of the gift! Secure the edges with tape if needed.
Step 4: Fill and decorate!!
Now for the fun part — filling the pocket! Add in flat bookish goodies like bookmarks, stickers, or pens. You can also decorate the outside with washi tape, stamps, ribbon, or a gift tag for a personalized touch.
For an extra creative twist, grab a marker and write directly on the kraft paper — it’s such a cute way to add a personal message or doodles!

This little wrapping hack instantly upgrades your gift and makes it feel thoughtful and fun — perfect for birthdays, holidays, or any occasion. Try it out for your next bookish gift and let me know what you think!
